Charleston wedding photographer.

Charleston is 3.5 hours from Greenville and one of the most-photographed wedding markets in the country. We travel for destination weddings here when the project fits.

Why Charleston

We know the venues.

Charleston weddings are a different category of project. Plantation venues, peninsula ceremonies, Kiawah and Folly Beach. Couples often plan from out of town, lead times stretch to 12-18 months, and the budgets reflect the destination nature of the day. That is a different market than an Upstate Saturday wedding.

Travel and lodging is a $400-$600 line item depending on the date and package. We typically book one to two nights, drive Friday or arrive early Saturday, shoot the wedding, and drive back Sunday. If your wedding spans multiple days (welcome event, rehearsal dinner, day-after brunch), we discuss multi-day coverage pricing separately.

Where Charleston couples get married

Boone Hall Plantation, Middleton Place, the William Aiken House, the Vendue, Hibernian Hall, Magnolia Plantation, Kiawah Island, Folly Beach, the French Quarter, Rainbow Row, and venues along the Ashley River corridor.

Most-asked

Charleston wedding FAQ.

How does the travel line item for a Charleston wedding work?

Flat $400-$600 depending on the date and package. Covers round-trip travel from Greenville, one to two nights of lodging (we book our own, you do not coordinate it), meals on the road, and any local Charleston transportation. No mileage billing, no surprise charges, no per-hour clock starting from when we leave the studio. The fee is on the quote before you book.

Do you know Charleston venues well enough to plan timeline?

I know the popular ones (Boone Hall, Middleton, William Aiken, the Vendue, Hibernian) well enough to plan timeline confidently. For less common venues, I do a remote venue walkthrough with photos and the venue coordinator before the wedding day. Charleston timelines run a little different than Upstate timelines, mostly because of the heat in summer and the way historic venues handle vendor flow.

How far ahead do Charleston couples need to book?

Charleston weddings book 12-18 months out as a rule, sometimes 24 for popular peninsula venues and peak season (April, May, October, November). If you are planning within 12 months, send me the venue and date — I will tell you within 24 hours whether we're free. Off-peak Friday or Sunday Charleston weddings have more flexibility.
