Asheville is one of the best wedding photo markets in the Southeast and a place we travel to regularly. The Blue Ridge Parkway, the River Arts District, the venues tucked into the hills outside town. Couples planning destination-style Asheville weddings usually want a photographer who actually understands mountain light, not someone driving in from Charlotte that morning.
$150 flat travel fee for Asheville. No mileage games, no per-hour add-ons. Mountain weddings have logistical considerations Greenville weddings do not (weather contingency, Parkway permit timing, drone restrictions near Biltmore), and I plan around all of it.

Blue Ridge Parkway overlook venues, downtown Asheville and the Arras Hotel area, River Arts District event spaces, the Biltmore Estate grounds and nearby venues, Black Mountain, Chimney Rock State Park, and the mountain properties along 74A.

Do you photograph weddings on the Blue Ridge Parkway?
Yes. Parkway elopements and small ceremonies are a meaningful part of what we shoot in Asheville. The National Park Service requires a permit for ceremonies, which the couple typically handles, and I always recommend a backup mountain venue in case of weather. Best Parkway light is early morning or about two hours before sunset.
What about drone footage around Biltmore?
Drones are restricted within and around Biltmore Estate property. For weddings on the actual Biltmore grounds, no drone. For weddings nearby (Asheville proper, River Arts District, surrounding mountain venues), drone is fine and often included in Platinum coverage. Always confirm specific venue rules — some private mountain venues also restrict drones.
How does Asheville pricing work compared to Greenville?
Same package prices (Silver, Gold, Platinum) plus a flat $150 travel fee. No mileage billing, no overnight upcharges for normal day-trips. If the wedding requires overnight lodging (very early ceremony or very late reception), we discuss that on the quote. Most Asheville weddings are one-day round-trips.
