Outdoor portrait spots on landscaped grounds shift with sun position throughout the day, so we lock down the timeline based on where the light is, not where the planner suggested out of habit.
Coverage approach
Estate-style weddings reward planned portrait stops: one inside (the grand entrance, a staircase, or the main hall), one outdoor against the property's signature backdrop, and one editorial-style frame somewhere unexpected. Reception coverage is usually balanced flash-and-ambient.
Timing & seasons
Spring (April-May) and fall (October) give you the most usable outdoor portrait window. Summer ceremonies should sit at 5pm or later to keep portraits in soft light. Winter weddings work indoors with a brief outdoor stop if the weather holds.
